Voor onze opdrachtgever in de bancaire sector zijn wij op zoek naar een Financial Reporting Specialist.
Department Shared Services Finance (SSF) Amsterdam within the bank is responsible for instructing, receiving and consolidating the external and statutory financial information.
One of the main tasks of the department is the reporting of financial figures to the Group. Next to this a number of projects have started to align and integrate processes and systems with the Group organization. The department is seeking a financial reporting specialist to strengthen the department and take over tasks that were previously performed by the SSF team in Edinburgh.
Main deliverables will be
Data submission related:
• Handle and control monthly data submission into the Group
• Perform reconciliation of the data submission into the Group with the financial reporting system (Cartesis), including late adjustments.
Supplementary Data Pack related:
• Fill out (sub-set) of the quarterly Supplementary Data Pack (SDP) schedules that are used to report quarterly disclosure information to the bank.
• Review SDP schedules that are filled out by team members before the schedules are sent to the bank
• Assess new disclosure reporting requirements and the impact on the bank financial reporting system;
• Together with IT decide on optimal technical solution for the Cartesis changes
• Design, test and implement together with IT new disclosure requirements in Cartesis
• Write instructions and train local finance for SDP delivery
• Improve and where possible automate the SDP delivery process to the bank.

Educational level
• HEAO or higher
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years working experience in financial accounting in an international group;
• Preferably working experience in banking;
• Preferably working experience with Hyperion;
• Managing and leading small team (2 FTE’s);
• Dealing with international stakeholders;
• Proven experience in working and manipulating large data files with financial data for reporting purposes.
Professional knowledge:
• Affinity with automation
• In-depth knowledge of MS Office; very good in Excel and Access and in general with data manipulation;
• Good financial and accounting knowledge, including consolidation;
• Knowledge of IFRS.
General:
• Candidates needs to be able to start ASAP
• Candidate needs to be flexible in working hours due to monthly and quarterly reporting. Evening and weekend work might be required.
Additional Comments:
The focus in this role is the candidate’s ability to work with and manipulate large amounts of financial data. Excel, Access and general computer skills are therefore essential. The candidate needs to be stress resistant as he/she will have to work with large amounts in short time periods. Most of the tools used to manipulate are already in place but would need fine-tuning and the possibility is there to create new financial tools to simplify the process. An accounting background is required with good experience within an international working environment. English needs to be at a fluent level as a lot of work is done with colleagues in the UK. The team is very focused and determined with a strong drive to get the job done on time. The candidate in this role will be leading a small team of two FTE’s. Candidate needs to have at least 5 years experience in a similar role.
