Senior Network Architect

We are currently seeking a senior-level Network Architect with deep hands-on expertise to support efficient solutions to modernize and future-proof network infrastructure for the next 5–10 years.

Beyond technical excellence, our client is looking for a strategic thinker and change agent — someone who can challenge the status quo, influence stakeholders, and shift the mindset of our networking and security teams towards a modern, agile, and security-first approach.
We need to have a modern flexible and adjustable network we can add new offices to in a fast manner.

Role responsibilities:
• Planning and designing data communication networks
• Presenting network plans to management staff
• Overseeing the network implementation process, including setting schedules and budgets
• Managing information and network security
• Overseeing upgrades to hardware and software as needed
• Manage maintenance and repairs to network equipment
• Keeping documentation of networks, including drawings, descriptions and configurations
• Researching network technologies and staying up to date on advancements in the field

Must have technical skills:
• Knowledge of networks:
*layer 1
WAN connection types
provider connection types
LAN connection types
*layer 2
Vlan’s
Portchannels
sub interfaces vs trunk
*layer 3
IP
Routing
VRF
• Must have knowledge and experience of Firewalls (Fortigate & Forcepoint)
• Knowledge of Cisco (Certified)
• Ability to analyse complex network infrastructures, determine the root cause for performance deficiencies, propose efficient solutions, and manage its implementation.
• Telephony/VoIP infra management and migration projects.
• Knowledgeable about modern networking (SDWAN, Cloud Networking, Zero Trust, etc).
• Understanding of technical offers from telecom providers, and ability to select the most appropriate services for each need / Telecom providers management

Nice to have skills:
• Project Management certification

Hybrid work : Work office (1-2 days pw) is required at the beginning, then more flexible approach can be considered.
Location: Netherlands (office in Den Bosch)
Language: Fluent written and spoken English
Business trips: Yes. 3-4 trips annually within the EU
Start date: As soon as suitable candidate is found
Duration: 1 year contract with possibility to extend further
