About the Client
Our client is building a global payments platform to consolidate payment volumes across 40+ countries, enabling greater cost efficiency, centralized control, and end-to-end transparency. Operating as an independent unit within the COO domain, the organization combines strong strategy with commercial focus and works in Agile, self-organizing teams.
This long-term program (4 years) covers the development of a new CI engine followed by a data engine , with flexible workforce assignments lasting up to 3–3.5 years.
Role Overview
As a Customer Journey Expert (CJE) , you will take end-to-end responsibility for the SEPA Direct Debit service. This involves backlog management, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring delivery across multiple domains from backend and delivery strategy to finance aspects. You'll work closely with international colleagues in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Romania, alongside onshore and offshore teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prioritize and manage the product backlog (features, epics, user stories, tasks)
Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships (Risk, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Finance, Tax, Sales, service consumers and providers)
Ensure both functional and non-functional requirements are met (security, resilience, performance, compliance)
Take ownership for risk and compliance obligations
Remove impediments and support smooth service delivery
Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure stability and continuity
Drive value creation across payments processing end-to-end: initiation, clearing, and reporting
Candidate Profile – How to Succeed
We are looking for a proactive professional who can balance business and IT perspectives and quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Key skills and experience:
Proven experience in SEPA Direct Debits (must-have)
Background in banking or financial services , ideally within an international environment
Strong experience in Agile/Scrum delivery within corporate setups
Excellent stakeholder management skills across multiple countries
Ability to guide onshore and offshore teams
Structured, detail-oriented, resilient under pressure, while keeping the bigger picture in mind
Excellent English communication skills (Dutch is a plus)
Able to start quickly, ideally in October
Practical Information
Location: Amsterdam (2x per week) + Belgium (once every 2 weeks); partial remote work possible
Team setup: International, small team working Agile across NL, BE, RO
Duration: Up to 3–3.5 years (within a 4-year program)
Hiring process:
Screening interview with HR manager
First interview with 1–2 team members (focus on team fit and collaboration)
Contract type: No ZZP – assignment only via approved suppliers
Start date: October (preferred)
