About the assignment

As Interim Group Controller, you will step into a critical leadership and backfill role during a complex private-equity-backed carve-out and separation programme. This assignment requires proven, hands-on experience in PE carve-outs: you understand the pace, pressure and governance expectations that come with PE ownership and standalone transformations.

You act as a senior, trusted advisor to Group Finance leadership, bringing calm, authority and sound judgement to ensure continuity, quality and robust decision-making. Alongside business-as-usual controllership responsibilities, you play a key role in shaping and implementing a fit-for-purpose Group Controllership Operating Model for an independent, PE-owned organisation.

Information about the organization

You will join a transformation-driven, fast-moving organisation transitioning from a legacy enterprise structure to a fully independent, PE-backed setup. The company operates globally and is owned by a private equity investor with high expectations around speed, transparency, control and value creation.

Job description

  • Act as interim backfill for Group Controllership during the carve-out and separation phase.

  • Serve as a senior sparring partner to Group Finance leadership on reporting, consolidation, controls and PE-related governance requirements.

  • Provide expert judgement on IFRS, consolidation topics and audit matters in a carve-out context.

  • Support the design and implementation of a fit-for-purpose Group Controllership Operating Model aligned with PE expectations.

  • Oversee global financial reporting, consolidation and audit processes with internal teams and external service providers.

  • Lead and support the transition away from TSAs towards standalone finance processes and systems.

  • Safeguard high standards of internal controls, governance and reporting discipline.

  • Ensure accurate and timely Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) reporting where applicable.

  • Collaborate closely with Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR and Operations as a senior finance advisor in a PE setting.

  • Mandatory: extensive, hands-on experience in PE-backed carve-outs

  • Deep expertise in IFRS, group consolidation and audit processes within complex organisations.

  • Proven track record as a senior finance advisor who brings judgement, structure and confidence in high-pressure environments.

  • Comfortable operating as an interim backfill and sparring partner during periods of transformation.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence senior leadership and PE stakeholders.

  • Hands-on, pragmatic and delivery-focused mindset.

  • Demonstrated experience with TSA exits and finance systems implementation.

  • AI-savviness or openness to technology-driven process optimisation is a strong plus.
