Senior React Native Developer (iOS / Android)

Hunkemoller, a European lingerie retailer, is building the next generation of its digital experience, alongside the migration to a new Next.js storefront integrated with New Black's EVA unified commerce platform. We're searching for a senior lead React Native developer to help build and scale the HKM app, a performance-critical, customer-facing product that connects discovery, loyalty, and in-store experience into one continuous journey.

It's a hands-on position within a small, high-autonomy team. Candidate should be comfortable owning decisions and working in an environment where speed and knowledge retention matter more than process overhead.

Key requirements:

• Senior React Native engineer, strong in TypeScript, React Native, and mobile app architecture

• Proven enterprise experience on high-traffic consumer e-commerce apps, stability, peak loads, and incident readiness

• Performance mindset, understands mobile performance bottlenecks (startup time, rendering, network efficiency), and builds fast, responsive experiences by default

• AI-first mindset, uses AI tooling to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and document decisions, without sacrificing maintainability

• Strong fundamentals in native mobile constraints and tooling, iOS and Android build pipelines, app signing, store releases, and debugging

• Comfortable with modern app patterns: navigation, state management, resilient networking, deep linking, push notifications

• Experience integrating with API-first backends and BFF patterns, working in integration-heavy environments

• Security and privacy mindset: secure storage, token handling, least-privilege access patterns, GDPR-aware implementation

• Delivery maturity: CI/CD for mobile, feature flags, staged rollouts, crash analytics, observability

• Collaboration-first, works smoothly with Solution Architect, Full-Stack team, and Product Owner, focuses on maintainable foundations and knowledge transfer

Nice to have:

• Experience with commerce and loyalty app flows: authentication, membership, returns, store locator, scan-to-assist

• Experience with identity patterns and secure session handling

• Experience with analytics instrumentation and experimentation (A/B testing), event taxonomies, attribution basics

• Experience working alongside a composable commerce stack (EVA), CMS-driven content, and personalization platforms (Bloomreach)

• Claude Code experience
