The ideal candidate will have a strong technical affinity and is a quick learner. The candidate is customer focused and keen on resolving service interruptions as quickly as possible. The role requires a broad knowledge of other IT areas like datacenter services, networking, and monitoring to be able to work with other teams and engage in multi-disciplinarian projects. The environment is dynamic with your team having responsibilities for multiple projects of various sizes at all times.
The candidate is responsible for maintaining and evolving our basic network infrastructure services. Identifies areas for improvement and initiates changes to improve the network infrastructure. Engages on any service issues and outages to define cause, resolution options and post issue root cause analysis.
Ensure stable and reliable network services
Network troubleshooting and fault analysis; hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Take preventive or corrective actions when necessary
Trouble ticket generation, response, and escalation
Deployment and maintenance of network monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools
Ensure deliverables are on time, on budget, and ‘with highest quality’
Work in compliance to procedure, standards, and policies
Understand the contractual technical specifications and SLA’s with 3rd party vendors providing or support services
Close engagement with Service Desk and NOC on potential /occurring incidents/problems
Deliver break/fix solutions in a timely and high quality manner
Ensure the execution of the technical deployment activities (changes) in line with defined process
Project support for standard or small changes
Maintain system documentation
Potential participation in 24x7 standby rotation schedule
Associate or Bachelors Degree in IT or related field of study or comparable work experience
3+ years of working experience in a technology profession
Must have 2+ years of experience within the network services: Cisco, IP fundamentals
CCNA certified or equivalent level of knowledge
o Routing Protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)
o IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP)
o IP filtering and firewalling
o Quality of Service o Ethernet (Vlans, RSTP, MST, Dot1Q)
o Basic understanding of AAA platforms (Cisco ISE, RSA SecurID)
o Radius / Tacacs o Virtualization (VLAN, VRF, VDC)
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of IT (ITIL) processes, SLA’s and architecture principles
Familiar working in data center environments
Fluent speaking and writing in English.
