Niagara is the project name of the already launched product, the VarioPrint i300, a 300 ipm full color inkjet printer.
Today the project is ;in a Lead Customer Program-phase in which we assemble the first products for the customers in en early industrialization phase (build to order-concept).
A lot of non-optimal processes still exist, support from indirects (engineers, R&D) is still needed on a daily basis.
An indication of the size of the project is given by the number of parts and labour hours: 1000+ assembly hours, 10.000+ parts per engine.
Position's main tasks
The Niagara assembly is split into several modules. These printer modules are delivered to the Niagara integration team, where the sytem as a whole will be integrated, adjusted and tested.
The main responsibilty will be to increase the quality of module delivery towards the integration team. ;Main tasks will be:
FMEA/Data analysis; based on risk assessments and known delivery problems, the test coverage needs to be increased.
Test coverage needs to be improved via 1) enhancing the visual inspections, 2) increasing the coverage of the automated module testers.
Realization of automatic module testers. This will be achieved in cooperation with R&D, Equipment engineers and external tool suppliers.
Required area of education: Bachelor, technical (HTS W/E/I)
basic IT knowledge
experience in Quality Assurance / Test engineering of capital goods (low volume, high complexity)
project management skills
good communicator with technical disciplines (R&D/external parties)
pragmatic (balance automation/inspection & test & coverage versus risk)
