Assessment Solutions provides a global centre of excellence for Shell's assessment needs. Part of the Enterprise Learning group, our focus is typically on non-technical assessment tools and processes which support the various Shell businesses and functions. But as experts in assessment, we also provide consultancy support on technical assurance, and competence principles and best practice.

A key part of Talent Identification and Development, Leadership Development and Recruitment, Assessment Solutions is often at the heart of key HR and Learning projects and systems. Examples of projects include:

  • Developing assessment products as part of Leadership Development

  • Updating external recruitment tools and systems as part of a next-generation project

  • Designing Assessor Training to meet the assessment needs of all leaders

  • Supporting a key competence management project with insights on assessment best practice

Our Learning Advisors also support colleagues in Leadership Development in facilitating a range of development programmes from graduate level up to Senior Leader level.

Support Assessment Solutions in

  • Shaping the organisation's thinking around assessment methodology to support recruitment and leadership development priorities

  • Providing a top-quartile, externally recognised, range of assessment interventions and tools to support business needs

  • Contributing to and ensuring alignment with the global learning strategy and agenda to deliver top-quartile learning.

Key accountabilities for the Senior Learning Advisor are

  1. Provide expert input to the Centre of Excellence for Assessment Methodology

  2. Design, deliver and implement a full spectrum of appropriate assessment methods

  3. Manage a budget for assessment design and delivery

  4. Act as the Subject Matter Expert and Focal Point for a number of assessment processes

  5. Drive more informal/non-programmatic and high quality assessment in the business

  6. Actively work together with Talent & Development, Business Learning and Organisational Effectiveness and HR in the Business on the learning and recruitment agenda

  7. Manage the Contracting and Procurement interface where appropriate

  8. Manage contracts / relationships with external partners

  9. Provide coaching and leadership to Assessment Solutions colleagues

  10. Interface with leaders up to EC-1 around business assessment needs and talent data

  11. Facilitate Leadership Development programmes*

*Role requires flexibility to work longer days or away from home location during programme delivery
