Our client is looking for an experienced (senior level) Dev engineer to strengthen its innovative development team that delivers complex mission-critical software solutions.

Job Description

Your main focus will be on developing & supporting

•Generic in-house software tooling (API’s, Tibco services, UI’s, NoSQL databases) that is used by a major part of the DevOps teams. Software that is used to support migrations, support Lifecycle management, support capacity management, support monitoring needs etc..
•The migration needed for all teams to upgrade from AMX 2.3 to BW Classic 5.12
•In addition to developing complex software solutions, you will also contribute to:
◦Streamlining our continuous integration and continuous delivery all the way from code check-ins to deployment into production in collaboration with devops colleagues and the CIS team (responsible for our build- en deploy framework), using the best tools that we can find: e.g. Jira, git, Jenkins, Docker, Neo4J, Logstash, Maven, Nexus, Artifactory, …).
◦Improving our way of work with designing best practices

Your work environment
You will work in the dynamic and challenging environment of the IT organization of CIO NL Party with collegues that are highly skilled. We are a frontrunner for generic tooling and a frontrunner in getting the new Tibco Classic stack in place for our client.

We operate according to a Scrum Agile development process and strongly believe in the DevOps approach to delivering IT solutions. The focus is on high-quality mission-critical software delivered in time using iterative development with regular milestone demos to the business.

Profile (desired skills & experience)
•You love technology and naturally stay up-to-date on relevant new developments.
•5+ years of software engineering experience
•You have a natural drive to deliver solutions that have high quality and have a high level of adoption. You actively promote the solutions we deliver.
•You are able to develop efficient and maintainable code with the right balance between solving the problem at hand and not over-engineering your solution.
•Good knowledge of OS fundamentals with the ability to apply it in the context of modern operating systems (e.g. Linux).
•You have sound knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL datastores and are able to configure and work with it
•Excellent knowledge of Java 7/8 including the Spring framework 3.x/4.x and/or JEE 6.0/7.0.
•A working knowledge of JavaScript, AngularJS and modern WEB 2.0 development.
•Good knowledge and experience with Tibco products & platforms
•Good English communication skills, verbal as well as written.

•Must haves (a minimum of 5 years experience)
◦Java and Java test tooling
◦Angular JS / Javascript
◦Tibco AMX2.3 and Tibco Classic platforms

•Should haves
◦CD tooling like: Nolio, Docker, Maven, Jenkins etc.
◦Test tooling like: Protractor, Subversion, Fitnesse, Selenium, UFT, Soap UI, RIT
◦Monitoring tooling: Logstash, Kibana, Grafana, ElasticSearch, IBM tooling

•Nice to haves
•NoSQL/Low Latency Data Store (LLDS) Solutions e.g. Cassandra

•Years of experience working in scrum teams. Comfortable working within a heterogeneous team regarding culture and skill level and giving direct feedback on the performance of team members.
•Strong commitment on achieving the goals set by the team and organization even when this is not always in own interest.
•Disciplined and accurate. Setting high quality standards for own work and that of others (in and outside the time).
•Never satisfied with a achieved level in productivity or quality, continuously looking for improvements and innovations.
•Never compromise on quality and reliability (both performance and security).
•Sensitive for the fact that a large organization has relatively quite a number of procedures to comply with and willing to accept that as part of the job.
•Always aware of the fact that your team is part of chain of parties that only as a whole can deliver value to our customer.

•Strong preference for Dutch native speaker or capable of speaking and writing in Dutch on a sufficient level.
•Capable of speaking and writing in English on a sufficient level.
