The Mechanical Engineering team is responsible for applying mechanical engineering principles to participate and or support in the design, documentation, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
The candidate will support all efforts needed to produce, update, and control mechanical engineering configuration items for the devices. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for supporting all test, modification, fabrication, assembly processes to ensure soundness of designs, as needed.
Create 3D models and 2D drawings for new products and or sustainment engineering
Support non-conformance issues and engineering change requests
Support troubleshooting efforts on mechanical installation issues
Utilizes understanding of design and fabrication of sheet metal assemblies, structural weldment assemblies, and dynamic linkage assemblies
Work with other functions such as Electrical Engineering, Production, Customer Service, and Quality in the development of concepts and final solutions
Ensures all relevant models and documentation are updated
Experience using 3D CAD software, SolidWorks preferred
Knowledge and experience with mechanical production
Experience with designing, integrating, and testing of mechanical parts and assemblies
Ability to work well in a team environment
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline
Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant professional experience
Knowledge of aviation and or flight simulator working experience is a plus
Product Data Management and Configuration Management experience is a plus
Static and dynamic stress analysis experience is a plus
