Our system uses a database to store a vast amount of real-time data. The data (content) is delivered to independently running databases on four nodes, which are paired in two separate centers. For redundancy purposes, all data on the different nodes. The data may be queried by multiple users at the same time and the results must be exactly the same independent of which database is queried. The data needs to be aligned in near real-time. The bandwidth between the two centers is limited.
Also a second layer of databases is available. These databases contain processed data from the real-time databases. Reports may be saved on a node, but the saved report must be available to all users and therefore in the other databases too.
