We are currently looking for a embedded software engineer for a project in Eindhoven area.
The Engine Management Systems department is responsible for the development of the Engine Control Unit, both software and hardware. The department is divided in three groups: Software Definition, Software Engineering and Hardware. The candidate will be working in the Software Engineering group.
To support the growth in projects and technology development, we are seeking a well qualified Software Engineer to work within our creative team in an innovative, fast moving environment.
The software engineer is active on both the design part of the development cycle and the validation/verification side for the engine aftertreament system (EAS) software. The software engineer is able to work in a broad field and as such is not limited to a specific functional area. You are assisting a senior engineer who is the specialist in his/her functional area. Testing is performed on a EAS system level on a bench, engine or vehicle. Other activities are calibration of interface layer (including sensors inputs), service tool support including trouble shooting trees and data analysis.
Next to the development and test tasks, the software engineer is also responsible for troubleshooting and compiling calibration datasets of the EAS software.
You are working on multiple projects and you frequently discuss your work with the corresponding senior engineers and the project lead engineers. In this function you report to the Supervisor of the Software Engineering group within the department of Engine Management Systems and functionally to the project lead engineer(s).
Technical education on college/university level with a specialization in control theory, mechanical- or automotive engineering (must)
Knowledge of embedded software design processes (according the V-cycle) (must)
Knowledge of engine aftertreatment systems (DPF/SCR) (must)
Experience with Matlab/Simulink (must), INCA and dSpace systems
Experience in system testing and troubleshooting
Experience with dataset management and releasing software in a production environment
Experience with process supporting tools like defect management, calibration and programming
Experience with requirement management
Experience with ECU (Electronic Control Unit) preferably in automotive with engine control
Knowledge of OBD (onboard diagnostic), DTC (Data troubleshooting codes) (pre)
Experience with failure mode testing, ECU I/O hardware testing and CAN
Experience with automation testing
Experience in designing and writing test cases for manual and automated tests
Good communication skills (must)
Experience with client-supplier relationships
