Voor een van onze opdrachtgevers in de bankwereld zijn we op zoek naar een ervaren Test Analist.

Startdatum van de inzet is 4 januari 2016 en de verwachte einddatum is 30 december 2016.

In order to deliver IT solutions of better quality in a shorter time-to-market, the client is making major improvements in the area of Test Automation and Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery. It offers challenging projects with extremely clever and motivated colleagues, a global scope and an environment with people from about 26 different nationalities.

Job objective

The Test Analyst is an independent critical thinking part of one or more multi-disciplinary project teams who likes to work in a software development environment that is both exciting and demanding. Projects can take place in a cross-departmental environment. Because the project team uses Agile practices, the Test Analyst works closely together with the business and project team members to come up with a product risk analysis, to develop a test approach and to investigate the application and the application’s risk profile.
The Test Analyst is empirical and informs the project team about his observations of the system under test. The Test Analyst collaborates with the project team to automate tests where feasible. Test preparation, test execution, progress reporting and communication about testing activities with the project team are part of the Test Analyst’s tasks. The Test Analyst proactively discusses improvements to testing.

Position in the project organization

Depending on the size of the project, the Test Analyst is managed by the project’s Test Manager (big project) or the Project Manager.

Classification criteria and scope of the role

Your primary working area is the testing of applications against expectations in a single functional domain.
You test software by investigating and questioning the product in order to evaluate it with a solid understanding of business, systems and requirements. You are creative when looking for solutions and see yourself as a part of a team where testing is an integral part of software development. Testing to you is not just a phase in a project, but a means to improve the overall quality of the project’s deliverables and to reach the business partner’s acceptance criteria. You proactively collaborate with your project team to automate tests where feasible and provide useful information on the quality of the test object(s) and the status of testing activities.

Test (iteration) plans and/or input on testing activities for project plans are important deliverables. The issue management process is also one of your responsibilities, just as the reporting towards project- and test manager and business representatives. You provide and apply test principles and procedures to the relevant stakeholders to be followed during the development cycle. Continuously developing your knowledge of the test profession and business domain for you is self-evident. You are an ambassador for the test practice. You continuously work to be familiar with, and to increase knowledge of, Agile practices.

Job requirements

  • Minimally seven years experience in Testing.

  • Minimally three years experience in Banking.

  • Bachelor or Master degree in ICT or Economics and/or able to demonstrate a clear affinity with ICT and an interest in wholesale banking.

  • Expert knowledge of SQL and DB queries.

  • Experience with DWH/BI and DataVault.

  • Toolknowledge of Team Foundation Server, SpecFlow en Microsoft Test Manager.

  • Experience with Agile and Scrum.

  • Experience with chain testing in a very dynamic and technical environment.

  • Experience as a test Professional in complex environments and large projects.

Methods & techniques

Within the department they have adopted Agile (Scrum, Kanban) as the software development methodology. Certification as either ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst or TMap Next Test Engineer is required.
You should be familiar with Context-driven and Exploratory Testing, and have hands on experience with test automation. Besides that, knowledge of and experience with test (management) tools and project management methodologies like Prince2 are required.
