CFO/Finance Strategy Department has a clearly defined purpose: ‘We help people secure their financial futures’. As part of Finance, Finance Strategy helps to fulfil this purpose by enabling us to adapt to our ever-changing world and cope with new demands, needs and regulations. We do this by initiating, coordinating and accomplishing finance related change programs.
The change programs are realized in close partnership with Risk and in collaboration with other departments and the Dutch and International business units. The Finance Strategy Department is leading the transformation to market value with currently Solvency II and in the near future IFRS4.
The work of the department is thereby located in the heart of the larger changes faced by the Group and the whole insurance sector. The Finance Strategy Department is a relatively informal department, in which actuaries and program managers work seamlessly together in a complex international environment. In summary: we assure we ‘get it done’.
The goal of the function is to support the program management of the Finance Strategy programs to realize the objectives of the change programs.
This includes support to make the program & change objectives concrete, supporting progress reporting, issue resolution, program communication and realisation of changes by taking ownership for one or more specific reporting tasks, (sub-)projects and/or aspects.
The work is always in collaboration with other departments and with the business units, which requires good communication skills. The role includes developing and providing support/advice to the programs with respect to quality improvement and the use of program management methods and techniques.
The job is a learning opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of the financials of our company and the wider implications of regulatory changes like Solvency II. Also the work is international, across departments and business units, leading to a good understanding of the Group. The Finance Strategy Department provides many opportunities to learn, both in content and in program and realisation management, and provides growth opportunities in different directions, to more contents roles and larger scope program management.
The PMO reports to the Head of Project and Change management team. He/she also reports in assignments to program managers of the different change programs of the Finance Strategy Department.
