As Chain Manager you are responsible for initiating and leading operational improvements in key areas of the Customers End2End chain. You establish and drive process improvements of customer facing or impacting processes by focussing on continuity and optimizing of the business processes. Both from a customer perspective (Customer Excellence) as well as from a Business Perspective (Operational Excellence).

Your assignment will be building, leading and coordinating the End2End chain management for either Cost Control or Network Communications.


  • The Chain Manager is empowered by the Chain Owner (SMT member).

As such the chain manager is responsible for the End2End Chain’s performance.

  • Focus on ensuring quality and efficiency of daily operations.

  • Bringing together a cross-functional team of chain links that translate insights (customer insights, system and process analysis) into actions from both a customer perspective as well as from a Business Perspective.

  • Establish End2End Chain KPI’s from Customer Journey’s Start to Finish and derive KPI’s for each Link (“Measure only what Matters”). Build Dashboards and Start measuring.

  • Steer chain to run within SLAs and identify optimization opportunities and drive fixes and improvements to the chain that can be carried out within BAU.

  • Continuously managing the prioritisation and progress of these activities, driven by the most recent insights and in close alignment with key stakeholders.

  • Regular reporting of status of the activities within the end2End chain, identifying risks and defining mitigations.

  • Reporting to Chain Owner and Quality Board about progress, high impact issues, prio’s and mitigations and actual performance of the End2End chain.

We ask

  • Master degree in Business Process Management, Business Administration (Bedrijfskunde), Information Management or related study.

  • Background with minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience within the area of improving the operational performance.

  • Solid knowledge of project management skills and techniques and strong in agreeing execution of activities and monitoring and steering progress.

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Dutch Telecom/IT industry.

  • Outstanding analytical skills and hungry for understanding the quintessence of processes, with ability to summarize discussions with opposing views and propose a way forward.

  • Strong performance in cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams .

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Perseverance, politically sensitive and comfortable in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, from front-line staff to senior management

  • Strong and consistent customer focus balanced with operational needs and possibilities.

  • Fluent English and Dutch.
