Purpose Statement

The responsibility of the manager entails four themes: The first is to maintain a robust overall E2E control framework, monitoring KPIs and track the strategies for efficiencies and savings. The second is to manage actively a top-down capital allocation process that defines the total amount of capital to be allocated to different countries/ investment categories, prioritization of funding and performance monitor the spend including managing of monthly agenda. The third is to ensure a consistent approach to valuation methodologies across the company and provide guidance to various stakeholders. The fourth is the management, training & development of direct reports. Group Control focus is to initiate and execute group wide planning, reviews and optimizations by working closely with the business and the procurement control team and based on reporting, analysis and monitoring of key drivers among which the procurement spend buckets. The primary purpose of the Capital Allocation team is to oversee the group capital requirements and optimise the allocation of capital across the group. The team enforces a consistent approach to valuations across the group by issuing guidance and setting standards. Also the ownership of the end to end analysis sits with the Capital Allocation team.

Main Responsibilities

Build a Capital Allocation team
Co-drive and support the building of the capital allocation team, including development of adequate tooling. Key building blocks for success:

  • Institutionalize RAC process within Company

  • Establish rules on re-allocations of capital, clarify spending limits and general governance

  • Improve Capex driver template/ dashboard

  • Standardisation of ROC methodology

  • Standardise business cases

  • Performance tracking on prior approved projects

  • Expansion of monitoring to include opex and direct cost

Initiate efforts to create optimizations across the Group

  • Contribute to the execution of the company‚Äôs strategy, which is focused on healthy top-line growth and the capital allocation discipline in particular OCF and OFCF optimisation

  • Pro-actively contribute to the role of Finance within business decisions and business awareness of and alignment with Finance objectives Support the establishment of a sound and effective Resources Allocation process across the Group to support the envisioned optimizations

  • Create a clear view on total capital spend level for the group

  • Execute the defined optimization of the capital allocation process, clarify prioritization and projections on capex demand

  • Execute and manage the defined country and central RAC processes

  • Advice on capex requests

  • Allocate opex savings according the guidelines and central approval process

  • Execute and maintain the integrated forecasting, budgeting and monitoring process (either a budgeting tool or team with a complete view of OpCo budget and spend) General and Leadership

  • Responsible for the financial translation of business issues and developments

  • Internally focus activity and resources to improve service to the finance community

  • Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to their management teams as well as to other staff members

  • Build high levels of trust to increase team performance

  • Develop, motivate and retain key staff by setting challenging objectives and demonstrating strong leadership. Build high performance teams that are able to both support and challenge the business

Knowledge & Experience

  • Masters in BA or other relevant field. Accounting or controlling qualification is a pre

  • Minimum 5 years prior professional experience in Financial or Business Controlling area

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dynamic, multinational finance environment with proven ability to work with professionals of different cultural background, professions and levels

Skills & Abilities

  • Fluent in English, both verbal and in writing, another foreign language like German is a pre

  • Analytically strong and pragmatic with a long term vision

  • Ability to apply sound business practices and work with business leaders

  • Result driven, output focused team player

  • Proactive and self-reliant/ independent self-starter
