Java IT Dev Engineer for team xPression
For our Document Management teams we are looking for creative, passionate IT engineers. The Document Management department is responsible for the development and maintenance of all applications with regard to document composition, print management, scanning / data capture and archiving. We are working with state of the art software packages from EMC2.
As part of the xPression team you will have a crucial role in managing high volume document design of different types of documents (like statements, mortgages letters) for the company's customers. You will be responsible for developing and supporting applications/tools for the company business partners with 7*24 availability. You will contribute to the team’s strategy of rolling upgrades and maintaining performance, availability, monitoring, security and Continuous Delivery pipeline. Together with other Ops and Dev Engineers in your team you will work according to the Scrum methodology.
The xPression team within the Document Management department is responsible for the development, lifecycle management and operations of xPression and its related components (including self-developed applications).
Your main tasks will be
Developing and implementing patches/releases of the xPression and own-developed software (currently Java) in two-week sprints. You actively participate in the Scrum process and in Continuous Delivery Engineering Practices. You will play a positive role with your DevOps team growing the experience and knowledge within your team.
As an IT Dev Engineer at Document Management you and 6 other enthusiastic professional colleagues will work together in a DevOps team in Leeuwarden (The Netherlands). Delivering a generic service, it’s important that you are proactive and be focused on delivering a continuously improvement of the domestic Dutch Customer Experience.
As the work is transferred from Arnhem to Leeuwarden, candidates are expected to work the first period significant time in Arnhem for knowledge transfer.
Technical Role Requirements
Completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical IT study
•Java (OCP) and knowledge of frameworks, libraries and tools like Spring Web MVC, JAXB, Quartz Scheduler, JDBC, Maven, JUnit, Servlets and JSP’s;
•Working with Websphere application server;
•Working with and programming against Oracle database;
•Working in a Document Management environment is an advantage;
•Working according to the Agile/Scrum method as well as with the DevOps method and ITIL;
•Linux environments such as Red Hat;
•Continuous Delivery tooling; e.g. Nolio, Jenkins, GIT;
•xPression knowledge and experience is an advantage.
Also, you are fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and in writing.
