In this role there is a combination of system management activities and team leading / project management activities.
The teams primary activity is the maintenance of the In store infrastructure for a large retailer. This includes the tills and their peripherals, The stores network, the printers, switches, servers, wireless environment and handheld devices.
The candidate will be expected to participate in project estimation, project execution and to take part in project meetings and discussions with the customer as well as evaluating and managing the execution of change requests.
This is a small dedicated, motivated and highly skilled team within which team members are expected work stand alone and take responsibility for the resolution of problems, changes and project related activities
For this function it is essential to be able to speak and write good English and Dutch
Job Management Requirements
Proven experience with team leading
Proven experience with Project management techniques and tools
Experience with change management processes
ITIL knowledge would be an advantage
Good communication skills spoken and written
Job Technical Requirements
Most if not all of the skills below are required
Proven Debian expertise
Windows development (including the management of windows updates etc)
Scripting /programming (Perl, Python, php, bash, C, C++ (visual studio))
Knowledge and experience of Linux kernel drivers
Web site development
Experience with the design, creation and management of (wireless) networks
Experience with Switches and configuration of switches
Experience with wireless devices (handhelds etc), running various OS’ (windows, Android, IOS)
Acquainted with various communication protocols like: rsync,snmp,ssh etc.
Nagios monitoring and event management
Installation and management of Linux servers
