The Test Analyst is an independent critical thinking part of a multi-disciplinary project team who likes to work in a software development environment that is both exciting and demanding. Because the project team uses agile practices the Test Analyst works closely together with the business and project team members to develop a test approach and to investigate the application and the application’s risk profile.
The Test Analyst has an empirical test approach and informs the project team about his observations of the system under test. The Test Analyst proactively discusses improvements to testing and collaborates with the project team to automate tests where feasible. We seek someone who can focus on automation and creating scenarios while assisting developers to test their code more effectively.
We are specifically looking for a Test Analyst within the team. This team is concerned with building additional functionality for the LQA system which has recently been released. The system facilitates Default Data collection for Credit Risk requirements, facilitates Special Asset Management processes and ensures proper ledger bookings.
Classification criteria / Scope of the Role
Your primary working area is the testing of applications against expectations in a single functional domain. You are involved early in the requirements gathering process to analyse the acceptance criteria and define test (and usage) scenarios. You are creative when looking for solutions and see yourself as a part of a team where testing is an integral part of software development. Testing to you is not just a phase in a project, but a means to improve the overall quality of the project’s deliverables and to reach the business partner’s acceptance criteria.
Test (iteration) plans and/or input on testing activities for project plans are important deliverables. The issue management process is also one of your responsibilities, just as the reporting towards project- and test manager and business representatives. You provide and apply test principles and procedures to the relevant stakeholders to be followed during the development cycle. Continuously developing your knowledge of the test profession and business domain for you is self-evident. You continuously work to be familiar with, and to increase knowledge of, agile practices.
Education: Bachelor or Master Degree in Finance and / or IT
Profession: at least 10 years, recent hands-on experience ‘doing’ testing, knowing what it means to ‘do’ test in a Scrum team by experience (Applying Specification by Example, User Stories and automated testing are a big advantage)
Domain knowledge: At least a basic understanding of IFRS9 terminology, preferably 5 years experience in the Accounting, Finance domain or at least 5 years experience in the Banking-, Finance- or Insurance sector.

Language: you speak, write and understand English and Dutch fluently. Non-negotiable.
Expert knowledge of SQL and DB queries.
Knowing your toolkit: TFS, SpecFlow, MS test manager
Experience with chain testing in a very dynamic and technical environment.
Experience as a test Professional in complex environments and large projects.
Methods & techniques
Within the clients department, they have adopted Agile (Scrum, Kanban) as the software development methodology. Certification as either ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst or TMap Next Test Engineer is required.
You should be familiar with Context-driven and Exploratory Testing, and have hands on experience with test automation. Besides that, knowledge of and experience with test (management) tools and project management methodologies like Prince2 are required.
