For our newly created business, Personal Health Solutions (PHS), we are looking for an experienced Mobile Software Engineer. You will develop using the latest technologies and take ownership of technology solutions being part of an exciting new suite Philips aims improving people’s health across the globe.
Philips is intensifying its activities in the ‘continuous personal health’ domain where we use services and devices helping consumers to take better care of their own health and that of their loved ones. We do this by providing them with personalized insights into their health and coaching them to achieve a healthier lifestyle.
You will focus on the innovation of products and processes being at the basis of our research and development. This basis includes cloud software, different apps, hardware devices and content/services.
Build and create mobile device libraries used across different Apps and work with different Personal Health Device
You work in tandem with embedded device developers creating a holistic end-to-end experience
Develop innovative features that are highly performant, compatible, responsive and easy to integrate in several Apps
Collaborate with UX developers to build amazing user experiences
Deliver projects and tasks with a precise attention to detail
Learn about and work in new technologies, languages and platforms.
Master or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, operational science, electrical engineering or another related field
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in designing and developing mobile applications
Deep understanding of the Android platform
Proven experience with connectivity technologies like Bluetooth Low Energy
Proven experience with object oriented design and the Android SDK
Well versed with agile development processes, preferably scaled agile and scrum
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Helicopter view, capable of finding an appropriate solution to complex problems and able to look, realistically, beyond the well-trodden paths
A strong team playing attitude, expressed in taking the lead where appropriate, building on each other’s strengths and working in a cooperative way.
You will work in a highly paced team with ambitious goals and be part of a new and dynamic business within Philips.
This role is part of the Innovation & Development team in the PHS business group within Philips. Aiming at delivering high quality and clean software, the team follows an agile way of working, including test driven development and pair programming.
The position is based in Eindhoven where 6 software and embedded engineers coming from different nationalities work on building personal health solutions.
