The Design Data Management (DDM) team provides the toolset that the hardware and software designers need to manage their data and collaborate during the design process. The DDM team is responsible for a number of “off the shelf” applications to support Configuration Management and Change control, Requirements Management and Project/Portfolio Management.
An important platform in the DDM space is Designsync. Currently a new variant is being piloted: Designsync Modules. This is done in the Designsync Modules project in which a proof of concept is performed together with business IC design projects using the new tool and new way of working.
The current planning is that by the end of the year, based on the pilots, a proposal is created to the business to move to Designsync Modules or not.
The work processes to successfully work with Modules are being set up in close cooperation with international design teams and supported by creation of dedicated scripts. The DDM team is part of the Product Creation Application team.
We are looking for a Design Data Management consultant in a mid-term assignment to strengthen the Designsync Modules project team to:
Help deploy the new applications and ways of working to the hardware design community
Analyze and implement changes as assigned
Evaluate and test upgrades/new functionality on Designsync Modules
Execute software development tasks (scripting)
Analyze requirements from designers and translate this into improvements, new ways of working
Challenging position in a dynamic business environment on the border of IT and R&D
Introducing, supporting and improving a modern Design Data Management application
Customer focused working environment
Analytical skills to understand design processes and translate these into IT requirements and working solutions
Strong knowledge on Design Data Management processes like Configuration Management, Change control and collaboration.
Good knowledge of IC hardware design processes and related digital/analog development flows
Good knowledge and experience with TCL and SKILL programming
Good knowledge of Designsync
Knowledge of other configuration management tools such as Subversion and their specific differences
Experienced in working with Linux environments
Experience with issue tracking workflows and systems
Nice to have: Knowledge about ITIL processes
Nice to have: Knowledge of the CollabNet TeamForge ALM platform
The candidate with working experience as an integrator is highly preferred
Experience in large scale IC design projects is a big plus
Able to determine the severity of a reported issue.
Able to determine the impact of implementation of fixes/ changes to the running platform.
Able to execute root cause analysis.
Able to adapt and translate work processes to robust scripting
