This Spotfire operational and technical IT support role will be responsible for supporting the Spotfire infrastructure and services.
Spotfire is a Business Critical application within Technical Landscape Services (TLS) are responsible for managing and operating the Spotfire Service globally, which typically includes operational support, deployments, service management, compliancy, and infrastructure related projects etc.
The Spotfire software is a Business Intelligence Analytics tool for easily analyzing complex data; customizing the discovery experience; and sharing the story through mashups, portals or interactive dashboards.
Spotfire Analytics delivers a unique combination of powerful analytics and an engaging visual experience that is both powerful and intuitive.
Spotfire Professional allows one to build and deploy reusable analytic applications over the web.
Performs pure ad-hoc analytics, on-the-fly.
Interactively query, visualize, aggregate, filter, and drill into datasets of virtually any size.
Spotfire Web Player extends the reach of Spotfire analytics to anyone with a web browser.
The purpose of the Technical Landscape Services (TLS) organisation is to operate the Technical and Competitive IT (TaCIT) Landscapes by delivering differentiating IT capabilities as a competitive advantage for the client.
Organisationally TLS is part of ITSO reporting to the VP IT Services and Operations.
Within TLS, the Subsurface and Technical Infrastructure Services unit focuses on delivery of IT solutions (infrastructure, applications and data) for the user community. The "Landscape" element emphasises that infrastructure, applications and data management practices need to come together in an integrated fashion to effectively support Business workflows such as Exploration, Field Development and Production.
The actual accountabilities will vary depending on the skills and experience of the selected candidate, but will most likely involve a subset of the following activities:
ITIL activities such as Incident, Problem & Change Management.
Providing ongoing technical maintenance and support for the Spotfire application, infrastructure and its interfaces.
Identifying, diagnosing and rectifying any number of problems affecting the Spotfire system which may emanate from software, hardware or the operating system.
Co-ordinating and executing Spotfire infrastructure projects and initiatives by TLS & suppliers, seeing the projects through to completion.
Specifying, implementing, installing and configuring new instances of Spotfire.
Liaising with project managers, engineers, service providers, end users, the business and other stakeholders.
Understanding the security threats posed to data, applications and their integrity, confidentiality & availability.
Co-ordinating and executing reoccurring Spotfire compliancy related audits, projects and initiatives by TLS & suppliers.
Misc. Terms/Conditions Dimensions The individual will be part of a gobal support team of 4 people, located in Malaysia, The Netherlands and USA. This is part of the larger TaCIT Spotfire service of around 20 people. Stakeholders include different levels of the organisation, both in IT and the Business. No financial or supervisory responsibilities. Challenges
Managing priorities, balancing urgent day to day activities with strategic longer term initiatives.
Working across virtual teams located in different locations globally within the client.
• Understanding the business needs of customers in order to assist them and to recognise the business impact when issues occur.
To continually update skills and knowledge in the latest IT technologies, including security threats.
• Attention to detail and determination to see things through to the end is a key attribute, given the importance of the system to the Group.
Technical Skills and Experience • A degree in computing or IT.
A good understanding of the Spotfire infrastructure & administration is required.
A sound knowledge of Windows Server & networking technologies.
A sound knowledge of Internet technologies and an understanding of Internet security. • Technically excellent with a good understanding of Windows applications, Windows authentication (AD, SSO and Kerberos),storage, DCLAN/WAN, RDBMS systems and networks including associated trouble shooting methodologies.
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or
Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD).
Application support experience (1st, 2nd or 3rd line support).
MS SQL, Oracle or DBA database experience.
Microsoft technologies programming or scripting experience.
Soft Skills and Experience
A logical and systematic approach to problem resolution across a broad spectrum of technologies.
Good interpersonal and influencing skills [rapport building].
Experience in managing IT projects.
ITIL & Service Management experience.
Working experience within the client.
