This Spotfire operational and technical IT support role will be responsible for supporting the Spotfire infrastructure and services.
Spotfire is a Business Critical application within the organisation. The organisation Technical Landscape Services (TLS) are responsible for managing and operating the Spotfire Service globally, which typically includes operational support, deployments, service management, compliancy, and infrastructure related projects etc.
The Spotfire software is a Business Intelligence Analytics tool for easily analyzing complex data; customizing the discovery experience; and sharing the story through mashups, portals or interactive dashboards.
Spotfire Analytics delivers a unique combination of powerful analytics and an engaging visual experience that is both powerful and intuitive.
Spotfire Professional allows one to build and deploy reusable analytic applications over the web.
Performs pure ad-hoc analytics, on-the-fly.
Interactively query, visualize, aggregate, filter, and drill into datasets of virtually any size.
Spotfire Web Player extends the reach of Spotfire analytics to anyone with a web browser.
The purpose of the Technical Landscape Services (TLS) organization is to operate the Technical and Competitive IT (TaCIT) Landscapes by delivering differentiating IT capabilities as a competitive advantage for the organisation.
Organizationally TLS is part of ITSO reporting to the VP IT Services and Operations.
Within TLS, the Subsurface and Technical Infrastructure Services unit focuses on delivery of IT solutions (infrastructure, applications and data) for the user community. The "Landscape" element emphasizes that infrastructure, applications and data management practices need to come together in an integrated fashion to effectively support Business workflows such as Exploration, Field Development and Production.
The actual accountabilities will vary depending on the skills and experience of the selected candidate, but will most likely involve a subset of the following activities:
ITIL activities such as Incident, Problem & Change Management.
Providing ongoing technical maintenance and support for the Spotfire application, infrastructure and its interfaces.
Identifying, diagnosing and rectifying any number of problems affecting the Spotfire system which may emanate from software, hardware or the operating system.
Coordinating and executing Spotfire infrastructure projects and initiatives by TLS & suppliers, seeing the projects through to completion.
Specifying, implementing, installing and configuring new instances of Spotfire.
Liaising with project managers, engineers, service providers, end users, the business and other stakeholders.
Understanding the security threats posed to data, applications and their integrity, confidentiality & availability.
Coordinating and executing reoccurring Spotfire compliancy related audits, projects and initiatives by TLS & suppliers.
