Netherlands Finance (FN) conducts and monitors the continuity of financial processes and provides financial reports for regulators and external reporting. This department has an important signal towards the management and the various business units of the company.
FN organization consists of three sections: Financial Information Management (FIM), Capital Management & Policies (CM&P) and Business Control & Pricing (BC&P). FIM provides financial registration, calculations, reporting of the company and its underlying entities. In all of these areas a large number of financial models is used, which are technically owned by the FIM BI team.
We are looking for a Financial Model Developer. He or she will be part of the FIM BI team, and will report to the FIM BI manager. As a Financial Model Developer, you are responsible for technical specifications of model changes and the ICT optimization for mathematical and actuarial processes. In case of large changes a programmer will be connected to the team, smaller changes and updates will be performed by this role. The technical ownership role for financial models needs to be improved and developed to a higher level of professionalism. At the moment we still have different tools in place for modelling, where we like to standardize it towards RiskAgility FM, R, SQL 2016 and PowerBI. The development process needs to be improved to an Agile Scrum approach supported by Team Foundation Services. The open position is one with a challenge for someone with a background in actuarial science, econometrics, applied mathematics or another technical study, and with a strong interest and knowledge of scientific software engineering and ICT. Knowledge of data analytics is a pre. Your main tasks and responsibilities include:
Technical Ownership of a subset of financial models;
Technical specification and impacts development of model changes;
Running financial models for reporting purposes during business hours and in the weekends if needed;
Development of code, data flows and BI functionalities regarding the models.
Profiel As a Financial Model Developer, you have the ability to think strongly "out of the box", and see opportunities. You have excellent communication skills, so you are able to establish a connection between financial staff and IT/BI capabilities. Furthermore, it is appreciated if you can bring flair into the organization, you are customer focused and persuasive.
At least a MSc degree (econometrics / actuarial science / mathematics / computer science);
Programming capabilities in C/C++, R, SQL Server and BI;
General knowledge of Matlab, VBA / .Net and SharePoint 2013;
Knowledge of AO / IC principles and SOX is an advantage;
Knowledge of products / experience in the financial services industry is an advantage;
Starter or a medior candidate, with a few years working experience with scientific software is a pre.
