The position of Regional Coordinator, Human Resources (2 days/week) is very challenging and diverse, playing an important role in supporting the needs of our associates as well as the needs of our business. Developing a strong partnership with associates both in the field and at the European Headquarters is critical in this area. The Regional Coordinator, Human Resources plays a key role in increasing the status of Foot Locker as a best practice and desirable employer within the industry.

Keeping abreast of local legislative issues and identifying HR best practices is highly important in developing the role and the level of Human Resources support within the specific countries of responsibility. Ensuring the implementation of Foot Locker Europe Human Resources policies and procedures, in accordance with local legislation and any statutory requirements, is also of paramount importance.


Legislative Issues/Legal Affairs

  • Focusing on prevention, ensure all policies are compatible with local employment legislation (Collective Labor agreements/Works Councils, etc.) and instruct and advise store managers accordingly to effectively manage and prevent legal claims against Foot Locker to minimize exposure for the business.

  • Proactively coordinate the disciplinary process and coordinate events related to personnel legal proceedings, such as disciplinary meetings, prepare case documentation, attend hearings.

  • Maintain reports for Legal department such as Legal monitoring (law cases).

Employee Relations

  • Reply to daily requests for information and calls from store managers, assistant store managers or associates in general

  • Participate in store visits in order to provide Store Managers with support on HR related topics and perform employee file audit for compliance with local regulations and company policies

  • Proactively prepare manuals for Store Managers to answer to HR queries

  • Support Loss Prevention department with Health & Safety related issues

  • Provide information regarding HR policies and procedures, sickness administration support and other management related support to Store Managers and District Managers

  • Ensure Foot Locker policies are in line with fair employment practices and are comparable with local best practice.

  • Support an equal opportunities environment for all Foot Locker associates.

HR Administration & Management Reporting / HR Information Systems

  • Ensure effective and efficient HR processes that support the overall objectives of the business

  • Ensure all personnel related information systems are updated timely

  • Provide accurate and timely reports to the Operations (i.e. status and changes reports, hours worked, overtime, absences, time for time balances, etc.) and EHQ Human Resources departments to provide relevant management information and support key business decisions.

  • In PeopleSoft countries: support the stores with PeopleSoft related issues and report and follow up with HRMS team when required, perform daily HR audits in order to approve transactions keyed at store level, manage contract administration. Provide HRMS team with required information to set up PeopleSoft (i.e. public holiday calendar, peak week calendar, etc.)

  • Maintain updated employee files, including contracts of employment, addendums, and disciplinary records and all other documentation required by country legislation


A successful Regional Coordinator, Human Resources should possess a mix of the following job specific attributes:

  • Bachelor in Human Resources

  • Some HR experience within a similar company (retail) is a plus

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Dutch

  • Working knowledge of prevailing local employment legislation

  • Enthusiastic, goal oriented team player with a desire to learn

  • Strong own initiative (manager will be remote)

  • Highest levels of ethics and integrity
