This role is a Business Analyst role in the Integration Services Portfolio Management Team. The Services Portfolio Business Analyst is responsible for identifying and documenting the business needs of their clients and stakeholders, and helping to determine solutions to meet business needs or resolve business problems. BAs add value to the organization through enabling change, defining needs, and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders. Accountability:
As a BA in Integration Services, you will become a functional expert on the business processes, systems, and data for all of the applications in our portfolio. You will work closely with (and report in to) the Lead BA, representing those activities in Integration services that require Business Analyst support. You will act as an intermediary between the business IT community and the technical community, using BA tools and techniques to collect and document business requirements, translate them into feasible solution designs, and ensure final solution quality. This will include both project work to support new developments as well as Sustain and Improve enhancements.
Key Role Objectives: Work with business IT stakeholders to capture and prioritize business problems, value drivers, and functional/ non-functional requirements. · Work items such as the Continuous Improvement agenda and Service Assurance and reviews. · Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement. · Understand relevant architectures, technology standards, and solution interdependencies. · Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep updated to align with the solution over the project lifecycle. · Understand the importance of Information & Data and ensure that solutions enforce data quality, enable effective data management, and provide quality information to the users. · Ensure that information threats and vulnerabilities are addressed in solution design and process changes. · Support IT Services and Operations in security, incident/problem/change management, and other run and maintain activities as a Functional and Business process expert.
Key activities: Understand new requests for services, complete initial analysis with the requestor(s) and provide investment proposals for decision review. Contribute to the annual operating plan, in partnership with the Lead BA and the business DVs. This involves creating proposals and estimated costing for new demand, ensuring budget submissions have a clear case and that the Business IT are on board. · Scope and requirements analysis for projects in the IS programme, working closely with the DV IT and SOM groups.
· Sustain and Improve initiatives in IS. As the IT function moves into a revised organisation, so the IPPD (Product and Project Development) team will look at improved ways of working internally. The BA will contribute to the sustain and improve agenda by supporting analysis of improvement opportunities and driving key improvement initiatives.
· Knowledge Management and Information Sharing: Define, execute and manage communication planning and delivery and knowledge management for Integration Services. This includes working regularly with SharePoint and maintaining up-to-date records of IS information. · Support and facilitate growth and delivery through communication and coordination by working as a communication Focal Point · Deliver the service portfolio roadmaps and translate those into activities and investments needed for future, to turn into proposals. · Support the role of Application Portfolio Management, using tools such as APEX, ITBM etc

Technical skills and expertise

  • Educated to a degree level, likely in an information technology or business specialty.

  • Business Analysis skills - techniques and tools.

  • Knowledge of the technology landscape including current and future developments and the most commonly available products and integrated solutions.

  • Lean Practitioner training is an asset.

Soft Skills and Experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to take a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving and pay close attention to detail.

  • Self-starter with good analysis and problem solving skills.
