We are looking for an energetic Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join the QA Support team. This team focuses on providing assistance to the clients teams in assuring quality of procedures and outcomes when developing their software products. The Dynamic Modeling department is responsible for developing the next generation tools for modeling and optimization of upstream assets, as part of their platform.
Various workflows that use reservoir simulators have significant HSSE implications. For example, reservoir simulators are used to predict pressures during drilling operations. Incorrect pressure estimations can lead to serious incidents. Consequently, QA for simulator development is critical to the business.
The Software QA Engineer will work with software developers and analysts during the process of design and development, maintenance and quality assurance of software products. The Engineer is expected to become fluent in using these software products and will assist in establishing “best practice” testing methodologies for all deliverables. The Engineer must be an open, communicative person, engaging with peers, clients and executives.
Soft Skills and Experience
At least 3 years experience in software testing
Relevant software testing certification (e.g., ISTQB)
Experience in programming in common scripting languages such as Python
Knowledge of Python, Squish, SVN, VSTS
A clear vision on how to develop high-quality software
Contribute to ensure that quality standards, procedures and methodologies are being followed in PetroSigns software development
Experience with working in Agile/scrum teams
Ability to on multiple cases and in multiple teams simultaneously and balance priorities
Pro-active, open, clear communicator
Additional Job Details
Work with software architects, developers and business representatives throughout the software development life cycle to develop software functional test cases and test scripts
Create and maintain test scenarios by using the appropriate technology
Contribute to the full testing lifecycle, from designing test plans to executing and writing test documentation
Participate in running automated tests and contribute to the evolution of the automated testing suite of tools
Execute performance test and analyze test results
Report test results effectively
Contribute to ensure that quality standards, procedures and methodologies are being followed
