A Mainframe DevOps Specialist is urgently required for a long-term, lucrative contract position with a major financial services client based in Amsterdam.
The Mainframe DevOps Specialist will help to manage the conceptual phase and also develop and test applications. The Mainframe DevOps Specialist will understand the whole (mainframe) stack in order to help bring applications to production and solve incidents together with the Ops Engineer. This means contributing to the realization of all activities in the backlog.
The Mainframe DevOps Specialist will ideally have 65% + of the following skills and experience:

• experience with and knowledge of mainframe applications NRC, Fiat, Blockades and PDS

• In-depth knowledge of (mainframe DB2) databases and SQL, COBOL, PL1, JCL, CICS, IMS, MQ, Z / OS, ISPF, Endevor, TWS.

• Understanding and knowledge of detailed 'technical behaviour' of own system at normal and peak load.

• Lead experience at risk of performance of the application after changes releases.

• Understanding how your application fits into the entire chain that this part of is.

• Fertility with Automation of Testing and Deployment with UFT is a ‘nice to have’

• Experience with working in an Agile organization is a pre.

• Fluent English, Dutch speakers strongly preferred

• Knowledge of tooling like Artifactory, Nolio, Maven, Microfocus Server Enterprise, Git, Jenkins, Nolio, is an advantage.

• Knowledge about / experience with business payment processes is ‘nice to have’.

• HBO / WO work and thinking level, with an IT background.

• Certification and / or proven skill in one or more high level programming languages.

The Mainframe DevOps Specialist will be responsible for activities including

• You control the full spectrum of MF engineering skills

• Deployment and running of Production system, you provide Level 2 support for your application; Automated testing (using UFT).

• Configure and implement (Omegamon) Monitoring Tooling (for 24x7 monitoring for the Master Control Room (MCR) using appropriate Event Alerts, agreed with the MCR.

• As an experienced Mainframe DevOps Specialist, you help less experienced colleagues and take care of some training.

• responsible for developing your own professional knowledge. You know where to get that knowledge and you actively ask for help from your Team Lead to help progression

• familiar with IT-Risk processes and experienced in its implementation and monitoring.

• Comfortable working in an environment where the main business payment processes with mainframe applications are supported. This environment will be operational for some time and will help you simplify this IT landscape with your colleagues.

• Experience of managing and expanding key business payment applications, in view of a significant complexity reduction that the client wants to achieve in these applications.
