Generic IT / EMEA fixed telephony consolidation

Our clients Generic IT is responsible for all IT systems and infrastructure to ensure that information resources provide their employees, customers and suppliers with easy and flexible access to reliable products and business process information.

Within Generic IT, Telecom is part of the Workplace and Unified Communications services. The telecom team is responsible for the roadmap, architecture and design standards for our client, runs improvement, innovation and lifecycle management projects in this domain and the delivery management of the operational services of mobile and fixed telephony on global level.

One of the projects is the consolidation of multiple fixed telephony environments into one environment for the sites Eindhoven, Hamburg, Munich, Nijmegen and Toulouse. To successfully finish this project, we need additional hands-on with telecom expertise.

Job Summary:

The request is for a Telecom Engineer. He/she will have a dedicated role with the execution of the EMEA Fixed Telephony project. The position will be giving hands-on to support the project in reaching its goals in time and in budget. The primarily task will be the fulfillment of the site inventory sheets needed for the PBX replacement. This will be done in close cooperation with the local site representatives for the sites Munich and Toulouse. Based on the Mobile unless policy a number plan for the remaining numbers should be created and the telecom engineer should present a clear overview of the required phone sets, licenses and infrastructure components to have a migration without any end user impact. Finally, the telecom engineer should help in properly converting all required telephony features of end users towards this new solution, including the site specials.

Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of traditional Telephony environments, VOIP environments and Telephony Special features, like ACD, IVR, hunt groups etc.

• Proven track record in Telephony migration projects both traditional as well as agile.

• Proven track record of working in international organizations/teams

• Project Experience in global Multinational companies is a must.

• Personal characteristics: Convincing, Can-Do-will-do attitude, Political and cultural sensitivity, Analytical, Team Player, eager to walk the extra mile, high quality standards (first time right)

• High level Networking knowledge to be able to arrange technical prerequisites for voice on LAN and WAN networks

• Excellent technical documentation skills (such as designing roadmaps and developing low/high level architecture/designs/number plans)

• Persuasive mind-set and to make things happen (successfully finish projects and assignments)

• Continuous drive for improvement

• Proven ability to communicate professionally in a corporate environment, work in cross-functional collaborative global teams.

Soft skills

• Excellent communication (both oral and written) in English as well as strong vendor and contract management skills

• Pre: communication in French and German

• Excellent customer service mindset. Must be able to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders and sponsors on projects

• Pro-active, dynamic, dedicated and responsible self-starter with strong customer orientation and multi-tasking capabilities

• Able to work as a team or as a single contributor, and Able to work independently with building designers, engineers, and technology providers

• Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people.
