System Engineer (senior)

As a System Engineer you are working in a team part of IT Infra Structure. As a team you are responsible for the management of the management of the physical and virtual server platform together with the platform teams (Linux and Windows).
Take responsibility for the physical and virtual server infrastructure from A to Z: the development, go live, management and maintenance of the physical and virtual servers.

Responsibilities
 Specifying, configuring and implementing all VMWare/Hyper-V environments.
 Day-to-day support of the VMWare/Hyper-V based production and development server environments.
 Experience with the following programming language: PowerShell.
 Support of HP Hardware that is running in our data centres
 Providing technical support to development & infrastructure projects.
 High technical skills regarding troubleshooting in virtualised environments
 Included in production support on shift basis.
 Included in the overnight on-call support
 Maintaining full documentation of systems, fault resolutions, and incident investigations.
 Testing of new software releases, patches and upgrades.
 Liaising with other technical support teams (Windows, DBA, Storage, Network, Linux etc.)
 Liaising with development groups
 Establishing effective lines of communication.

Knowledge
 Excellent Knowledge of VMWare system building & System Administration
 Knowledge of Hyper-V system building & System Administration
 Excellent Knowledge of VMWare environment management
 Knowledge of Hyper-V environment management
 Awareness of multi-platform environments
 Very good in PowerShell scripting
 Excellent Knowledge of Monitoring (SNMP, HP SIM, HP Oneview)
 Capacity & Performance Monitoring & Management
 Knowledge of SAN storage

Qualifications
 Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant direction
 Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT engineering/day to day operational management
 Experience with the following programming language: PowerShell
 Certified in VMWare system building & System Administration
 Certified in Hyper-V system building & System Administration
 Troubleshooting skills on virtualised environments (VMWare/Hyper-V)
 HP Hardware skills
 Effective communication in both Dutch and English language (verbal and written)
 Team Working
 Willing to travel to UK
 Pro-active attitude
 Participating in 24/7 standby shifts
