Lead Engineer - Software Defined Networking

For an end client we are looking for a lead engineer. You will work with a world class team developing and deploying new technologies on a cutting-edge network. Customer network is comprised of a global complex transport network of private and public high capacity core nodes, multi-tenant residential and mobile applications, requiring you to develop in the world of SD-WAN, NFV and Network Virtualization. You will assist with the design, development and implementation of new and innovative technology into a service provider network.Our customers unique position as a service provider and equipment allows you to experience the whole life cycle of networking software development – all the way from designmanufacturer to deployment. You will work with other customer solution architects and lead engineers to aid and lead suppliers engineers in deployment, documentation, validation, and test execution, to ensure deployed networks meet design and client needs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience

• Strong knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN / SD-WAN), service provisioning automation or Network Function Virtualization (NFV) platform environments

• Solid understanding of IPv4/v6 routing and switching and network communication protocols such as BGP, MPLS, VxLAN, EVPN, IPSec, VPN and Multicast

• Automation experience with configuration technologies like Netconf, RestAPI, Postman,Jenkins, Ansible or variants

• Experience with Huawei, Cisco, Fortigate network and security gear

• Familiarity with Openstack, FusionSphere, VMWare and other virtualization technologies

• Experience with creating network diagrams, documentation for design and implementation of network topology

• Experience with service and project management and metodoligies ITIL, Prince2 and vendor/supplier management

• Readiness to work in Agile/Scrum team

• Master degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study required

Preferences

• Software Defined Network Engineering experience within ISP

• Automation experience with Cloud Opera Orchestrator

• Huawei, VMWare certifications

• ITIL, Prince2 certifications

• Integration & delivery and DevOps methodologies

• Proficient in routers CLI configuration, network and software testing

• Experience with ISP Change Management and Operations

• Familiarity with cloud services – IaaS, PaaS, AWS & Google Cloud
