Lead Data Engineer

For one of the clients in the FinTech sector, I’m looking for a Lead Data Engineer.

This international FinTech company is in the middle of a digitization process. The teams are multidisciplinary and expanding in the field of Advanced Analytics. Product development, automation and sustainability are topics in the next year. It also is a modern environment and the international teams consist of a healthy mix of experts and young and innovative people who enjoy coming up with the newest technologies.

Function

As a Lead Data Engineer you will work in a multidisciplinary team that mostly consists of Data Scientists. You have a good understanding of Engineering and Infrastructure. It is your job to take the lead on alignment, backlog, structuring, architecture and exploration. You have extensive experience with Python, a good understanding of Data Science, knowledge of AWS and Databricks. The team works in an Agile way and needs a technical lead who is hands-on, but can also take the responsibility for 8 people, help the team and do some planning. You will partially work hands-on and partially have the lead. Another part is that you have the ability to clearly communicate with stakeholders. Ideally you understand the financial context and are able to translate domain questions. You are a communicative data enthusiast who enjoys Data Science and moving to the Cloud. If you have an interest in or experience with Deep Learning, NLP and Machine Learning, you have a strong advantage.

Function requirements

• Lead/Senior Data Engineer (hands-on experience)

• Experience as a Technical lead (or the ambition)

• Knowledge of Python, AWS and/or Databricks

• Good understanding of Data Science

• Coaching, stakeholder management and planning

• Experience with infrastructure and architecture

• Deep Learning, Machine Learning or NLP (is beneficial)

• Communicative
