Senior Oracle DBA

The job role is "problem-solving on a large scale", to align people and technology to accomplish a mixture of goals as working as one team for the client. Professionalism, teamwork, communication and excellent knowledge and skills are the key to success in this job role.

Activities

• Working with database on single nodes and in an Oracle RAC environment;

• Project work, mostly as the only DBA for the project (in an Agile environment on the client location);

• Be present at project meetings, planning, deliver project input;

• Implementing new releases;

• Release Wise Development, updates of existing databases, optimizing;

• Migrating existing database to higher versions; building, deploying, testing;

• Refreshing e.g. ET databases with a copy from production;

• Copying schema's from one database to another;

• Create, check and approve changes for Oracle changes on database level;

• Work as part of a team and provide change support;

• Work as interface between project leader and our client by translating client's wishes in to project steps;

• Willing to work in weekends to implement PR changes, approximately 1x in 2 months.

Experience

• Minimal 8 years of experience with Oracle and working on all aspects of Database Engineering
  and Administration support for large database environments;

• Experience with backup/recovery, migrations + migration tools;

• Experience with Oracle (12 and up);

• Experience RMAN;

• Experience with database cloning;

• Experience patch management;

• Data guard;

• Setting up large RAC and virtual database environments;

• Setting up a Grid Infrastructure;

  • Install Oracle Grid Infrastructure;

  • Setup OEM/grid control;

  • Create ASM Disk Groups;

  • Create and manage ASM instances;

  • Creating Real Application Clusters (RAC) databases;

  • Configure ASM Cloud File System (ACFS);

  • Administer Oracle Clusterware;

  • Manage Flex Clusters and Flex ASM.

• Setup and managing a Multitenant Architecture;

• Oracle Real Application Clusters (clusterware);

  • Install Oracle Database software;

  • Create a Real Application Clusters (RAC) database;

  • Configure Database Services;

  • Administer Oracle RAC databases on one or more cluster nodes.

• Configuring the network environment to allow connections to multiple databases;

• Experience with linux (Red Hat / Oracle Linux) and linux commands;

• Is familiar with Agile/Kanban/devops.

Skills

Mandatory

• Oracle Certified Master;

• Performance tuning (demonstrably/verifiable knowledge + experience);

• Demonstrably/verifiable knowledge + experience in migrating/cloning databases;

• Analytical, engineering mindset;

• Good understanding of the underlying OS (=Linux) for Oracle database and related utilities ;

• Good communication skills both in reading and writing. Used to communicate with senior management/
  executives;

• Experienced in writing design documents;

• Works independent but also as team player

Optional;

• core skills to succeed with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Services;

• Working experience with Exadata;

• Working with Oracle on: AWS/Azure/Oracle cloud environments.
