Product designer

As a Product designer at our client, you will work agile in cross-functional teams. You will conduct research and identify problems, explore, and create new functionalities, test solutions, improve current interactions and build towards a consistent digital experience.

What is product design at our client?

Imagine employees of our client being responsible for impactful decisions like flights that need to be cancelled or rerouted because of storm. Or passengers that are missing their transfer because of a delay. Now imagine that you are the one designing their set of tools to optimize their insights.

From preparing the flight schedule to managing disruptions and from optimizing the available resources to learning from yesterday, at Integral Planning & Control (IP&C) we create tools to support these processes. Your role as product designer is to connect with the users to really understand their process and needs and improve their way of working with new ideas, concepts and designs.

Being a Product Designer at KLM within IP&C, your days will be full of variety. You’re a B2E designer, but your work will reach much further than the borders of KLM employees alone. By optimizing, improving and creating new innovative IT solutions for KLM employees, you’re working on the passengers' experience as well.

Luckily you are not alone. With a multi-disciplinary group of software engineers, business process analysts, data scientists and product owners you contribute to the business goals as a team.

About Data & Technology at KLM

KLM wants to become the most data & technology driven airline in the world. In order to achieve this ambition, we started our new Data & Technology (D&T) platform. From flight to HR and from operations to ground, the D&T platform includes all directions of KLM. Being a Product Designer, you will have an important role in helping this new department grow. Within our enthusiastic D&T UX community of practice, you can help UX grow and take on shared initiatives like contributing to our design system or explore new tooling and ways of working.

Who are you?

You’re an enthusiastic Product Designer who loves to explore the complex world of KLM’s enterprise services. You’re not afraid to be the voice of the user in a multi-disciplinary

development team. You’re a curious and responsible person and you’ve got it in you to help us look at our digital landscape from a new point of view.
