Copywriting: how to charge for it?

As a free-lance content specialist I find rather difficult to fix a price for copywriting, specially when the project involves more ideas and brainstorming than "written pages".

How would you charge this kind of service?
Calculating hours is not possible, as the ideas comes out during phone-calls, conference calls, e-mailings and formal/informal discussions.
